Untitled

Broken in every aspect
Head tilted to the side
believing a worlds love
that confides its' children
of lies
fairytale delusion becomes
how to live an illusion
cigarette about the mouth
coke bottle on the left
newspaper of economic distress
but the sweatshop thread creates
perfection when we dress
disposition of the American dream
tempted that its the border of means
although we hear,
all things can come true when you
lose reality and pull up the 'boot-strap shoes'
You and I have pictured many things
having a hold on the promises that our country owes
to see the benefits reap
of all those belittled and owned
longevity in these years
when we carry the same world about the eyes
that still derive a few tears

Centuries Ago

All this love given
teardrops routine
emotions every now and then hidden
our love flaunted
yet persuasion to learn the ways daunted

All this love given
loving you, my solemn decision
care of abundance when I open my heart
secretly hoping
my fears tear us apart

All this love given
to babe on the eve of deceive
loved my love, but it could not
conceive
through the fog what this love seemed

All this love given
to him I vowed
that I'd never be too proud
to shy from the garden
and my thoughts be heard loud

All this love given
to struggle with who I am
only to grasp every stitch and wound on his hand
easy roads have always been taken
but with all my love given, my intentions were never mistaken

Power of Heart

Power is what I choose
rather than love, only to lose you
Business suit and suitcase
Quick pace so he keeps up the chase
I need him to conquer me
but the world shows, all he'll
do is leave me
compromise
leading up to demise
sacrifice
only to bargain with the lies
but I can't help but feel cornered
when its your eyes
that tell me we'll defy
Power is what I choose
the stereotypical gain
over the typical lose
until he shows me that the world
is not full of lover's fools
